Friday - February 16th
Arrive in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. You are welcomed by an AR Tourism Brazil host who picks you up at the airport and take you to your hotel. Once you reach your accommodations, unwind in your room and have a bite to eat. Emerge refreshed and ready to have a first look at the beauty of the city.
Saturday - February 17th
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel in order to fuel up for a full day of sights throughout Rio de Janiero. After leaving the hotel, travel downtown, passing by Rio's traditional and historical sites. Sugar Loaf Mountain, the guardian of the Guanabara Bay, is next on the itinerary. At the base of the mountain, you will board the cable car and rise to the top. From this height see Rio stretch before your eyes, taking pleasure in the 360 degree view. Lunch is included in this part of the tour. The afternoon brings you to another peak: Corcovado Mountain. Known for the 125 foot statue of Christ the Redeemer, this site is another breath-taking perspective of Rio de Janiero. When you gaze upon the city from this landmark, know that you are more than 2000 feet above sea level. This full day ends with a return to your hotel. Your evening plans are your choice - explore the city, dance the samba, or taste the local fare.
Sunday - February 18th
After feasting upon breakfast at your hotel, prepare for a day of leisure. Visit the beach or the many cultural activities famous for their year round intensity. In the evening, you
can't miss the most renowned Carnival parade in the world with its luxurious samba schools at the sambodrome. It is an all concrete stadium, a half mile long and the capacity of over 100,000 revelers. Each samba school performs a dramatic realization through their music, dance and costumes. This unique spectacle transforms your body, making you an essential part of the overnight celebration.
Monday and Tuesday - Feb 19th and 20th
Spend time having breakfast in your hotel. This is a free day to enjoy any of the multiple optional tours. If you want to catch some rays, go to the excellent beach, or explore the city at its most colorful time of the year. You have the option of going to the second day of the Samba parade on Monday night.
Wednesday - February 21
After a farewell breakfast at the hotel, you will be transported to the airport to take your flight home or towards your next destination.
